Ozone brings severe risks to human health and ecosystems. Catalytic ozone decomposition enables efficient ozone removal under ambient conditions. Manganese oxide-based catalysts have garnered great interest because of their low cost, diverse valence states and excellent catalytic activity. Manganese oxide catalysts, renowned for their excellent chemical stability, thermal resistance, and cost-effectiveness, have become a key focus in ozone catalytic decomposition research. This review systematically examines various manganese oxide catalysts for ozone decomposition, with particular emphasis on three critical aspects: supported catalysts, different crystalline forms, and synthesis methodologies. The discussion concludes with an analysis of current challenges and future development directions for manganese oxide catalysts.
